The
Horizons Program
In October
2006, the East
Lewis County Chamber of Commerce
introduced the 18-month Horizons Program to the
greater Mossyrock area. (Horizons is delivered in Washington state by
WSU Extension and funded by the Northwest Area Foundation).
This community leadership program helps rural communities in seven states
move from poverty to prosperity. The East Lewis County Chamber
of Commerce obtained 15 community member signatures for the community's
application, and Mossyrock was accepted to the program, one of 23
Washington rural communities participating.
The East Lewis County Chamber of Commerce and its volunteers
coordinated the Study
Circles and LeadershipPlenty
phases of the program, assisted the community with a visioning
forum and now provides
local support to the community members that are continuing their participation
in the program with projects that include the Blueberry Blues
Fest, Mossyrock
Public Market, and
Community Time Bank. Visit the Horizons website to learn
more. http://www.mossyrockpublicmarket.com
The City
of Mossyrock would like to thank the East Lewis County Chamber
of Commerce for its outstanding dedication of service to our area. Additionally,
we thank the East Lewis County Chamber of Commerce for "Trick or
Treat on State Street, Spirit of Christmas and "The Avenue of Trees",
Mayfield Lake Sumer Tunes, our website development, Information Center
in our town, marketing, promotions, and countless other devoted tasks
for our city.
Thanks
for all you do!
